Plenty of times, nurses are the first encounter with a human trafficking victim. Join us as we hear Forensic Nurse Examiner, Mary Suchetka talk about her work in the trenches. .Mary has cared for victims of sex and labor trafficking, rape, sexual assault, and domestic violence for over 25 years. While Mary was caring for these victims, she met with Ohio's Attorney General’s Office and presented a proposal that allows Forensic Nurse Examiners to work alongside law enforcement and participate in sting operations in the rescue and recovery of sex trafficking victims. Working alongside the detectives, advocates, and other law enforcement, this allows all involved to close the loop to protect the victims from their pimps and johns.
